DVD Replication
is a complete DVD manufacturing process whereby a glass master
is created from your original master DVD. From this glass master
a metal stamper is then created. The metal stamper
is prepared and then fitted into a specialised injection moulding
machine. Polycarbonate is then injected and pressed with the microscopic
pits and lands (the basic code for the
information contained on your disc). An aluminium based reflective
surface is then metallised onto the disc before a second layer
of polycarbonate is applied. The disc is then ready for printing.
Storm media
make sure to use only 100% pure polycarbonate for the production
of their DVDs, as a result we are able to offer you the best possible
quality.
This process
is identical to the DVDs sold in major retail stores and allows
for virtually any quantities over 1000 units.
Due to setup
costs associated with production of a glass master, this process
is only cost effective over 1000 units and turnarounds are between
7 to 10 days.
Once
your DVDs are replicated (Manufactured) they are then printed
using a five colour silk screen or offset lithographic process,
resulting in a very high quality finish.
